07.20.2010 - 08.22.10 Limited Edition Digitally Altered Photograph by Lena Johnson entitled "Mojave Desert Rainbow" exhibited in "Outstanding Visual Artists" of the Region Show at Museum of the Living Artist, San Diego Art Institute. (Juror: Architect Drew Hubbell).
Lena states, "This work of art originates from a digital photo that I captured in the Mojave Desert in Joshua Tree State Park near Twentynine Palms, California. What I remember most about this place is the quiet that pervades the high desert environment plus the extremes of light, shadow, texture and contrast. I added the rainbow feature and manipulated various sections of the original photograph with seven different processes in Photoshop to obtain the desired effect."
