Lena says: "This work is the start of a new series of photographic work that I am shooting at night.  This presents special challenges in lighting and extended exposures but is well worth the effort as it produces beautiful, surrealistic effects.  For the photo at left of the Sculpture Garden in Balboa Park, San Diego the camera had to be set on a stabilizing tripod as it required a fifteen second exposure.  In the background you can see the lights sparkling at the Globe Theatre where a performance was just wrapping up."
